Let’s dive in!

4-Steps to Weight Loss Challenge Success

How much weight do you wish to lose? And how much time are you willing to put towards losing weight? There are certain rules that apply when you want to lose weight safely and effectively.

1. Prepare yourself mentally before doing a weight loss challenge.

It’s your attitude that will fuel your success from a weight loss challenge.

Perhaps you may bombard yourself with dozens or even hundreds of weight loss challenge ideas, but the only motivation that you need comes from within.

You have to condition your mind, get it to accept completely why you’re even doing this challenge, and prepare for some hiccups along the way.

There may be days when you may not feel as motivated or as inspired as you were on other days.

And when you’re not seeing results, you may be tempted to stop and scrap the weight loss challenge attempts you’ve been making.

“Before you take on a challenge, you have to be mentally prepared by being aware of potential problems, how to address these, and being clear with your reasons for doing a weight loss challenge.”

Once everything is clear and certain in your mind as to why you are starting a challenge, you will be more prepared to do it.

In case difficulties arise, you can always go back to your purpose, look at the big picture, then keep going.

2. An effective weight loss challenge includes a combination of the right diet and exercise.

No amount of crash dieting and fad diets can ever help you lose weight.

Do these things, and you could be headed toward a disaster.

And a potential trip to the emergency room.

Never adopt a diet that you are not completely knowledgeable about, or something that literally starves you to death.

Sure, you want to lose weight, but don’t kill yourself doing it!

You still need to feed your body, but the idea is in the right amounts.

Be aware of your calorie expenditures and match this with your calorie intake.

By doing so, you’re not eating more than you’re burning or not taking in less calories than what you need in a day.

Calorie intake and usage are important areas to look into when doing a weight loss challenge and experiencing results without harming your health.

3. Results come slowly, but steadily in the best weight loss challenge.

There’s no fast route towards losing weight.

This is something that takes time, the same way your excess weight built up over time.

But also remember that the older you are, the slower your metabolism gets.

So you can’t expect to see results like when you were younger with a super efficient calorie-burning body.

“The good thing about a slow result from a weight loss challenge is it spares your body from being in a state of shock. You’re gently easing in towards losing weight instead of getting all crazy about it to the point of destroying your health.”

Slow and steady wins the race… Same rule applies when you’re losing weight.

4. Surround yourself with a supportive group as you do your weight loss challenge.

When things start to get tough, all you need is a little energy and morale boost from friends.

Get yourself a supportive group of people who can keep you inspired, motivated, and committed to completing your weight loss challenge.

Look Great with These Fitness Challenges

Everyone wants to have a trimmed, toned, and sculpted body.

Maybe for some, it’s an ego booster to have a hot bod, but for others, it’s all tied up in health and vitality.

I mean, sure, a six pack looks pretty amazing. But take a second to adjust your perspective. A strong core helps with balance and posture.

Your core muscles keep you stable and not just fumbling about.

But you don’t just want to focus on your core.

When you do your workouts, you want to improve your whole body

Your glutes, arms, legs... Both small and large muscle groups. It’s all about feeling and being stronger, with more endurance, and achieving your optimum best! (Plus, muscle builds stronger bones!)

And if you're trying to create a new habit, that means you need to also make time for it. Make time for YOU and your journey to better health.

If you’re a busy mom for example, in addition to your other responsibilities, naturally you have a lot on your plate. You have to be willing to cut out any of that time that's being wasted on Netflix, because well, you're worth that.

Longevity fitness is in the little things you do each day

Make the challenge you pick part of your daily routine. Just like how you get up and brush your teeth, if you want to create lasting change, you have to add your challenge into your daily life. And if you miss a day, DON'T Quit! Just brush yourself off and keep going.

Listen to your body and do your challenge during the time of the day when you’re MOST motivated, supercharged, and driven.

Then STICK TO IT.

Give it 10 or 15 minutes a day, and don’t skip it if you can help it. Commit to yourself.

No lame excuses, no ifs, ands, or buts.

If you want to succeed, you want to achieve that “after” look in your head to happen, then this is how you should do it.

Otherwise it’s just wasted effort.

The other thing that has to be overcome is the next serious enemy of taking on a new challenge: Mind Games...

Maybe your mind is telling you there’s no way you can do it, that you can't keep going, or it hurts too much and you deserve to couch it all day and not push yourself anymore…

No, you deserve to persevere! Don't let those pesky thoughts get in your way. Respect your body and do exercise that fit your physical condition, but keep fighting. Keep your eyes on the prize!

No one’s gonna do the challenge for you. It’s all up to you. It’s 100% pure effort by YOU.

Here are 9 Fitness Challenges to do, Pick One and Just Start!

If you picked a fitness challenge, you can also combine it with healthy eating.

Or, maybe you're looking to focus on your diet first.

Clean eating is a great place to start!

Clean Eating Challenges To Do - Just Start

What if I told you that you don’t have to spend a bunch of money to reverse aging and slow down the aging process, prevent illness or heal your skin?

Your skin is the LARGEST elimination organ of your body. Poor health from a bad diet often shows up on your skin. Funky odors, acne, rashes,  the core of these come down to poor food choices.

And of course, if you eat crap, then you feel like crap.

Excessive fatigue, mood swings, skin, nail and hair problems, these symptoms show up on the external, image what's happening on the inside.

The best thing you can do is make adjustments to your diet. Ditch the MSG, preservatives, table salt, processed food, high sugar snacks and drinks…

Just like with exercise, start slow with incremental changes. If you’ve been eating crap all your life, it can be a real shock to your body when you take it all away.

Try the 7 day whole foods diet, and do that simultaneously with the zero-processed food challenge.

Introduce the raw food diet.

Again, each body is different. You just have to listen to what your body is telling you and how you’re feeling about it. The challenges you do can be customized for your body.

I’ve done this myself. My ultimate goal 3 years ago was to become 100% vegan. I started with cutting down the pork, beef, chicken from my diet, ate more veggies and fruits and became a pescatarian for a month.

Clean Eating Challenges To Do

Then I decided to also eliminate fish and seafood from my diet, but I was still eating eggs and animal products like milk and butter.

It was a 60-day process before I completely transitioned from being an omni, to being vegetarian, and then to being a vegan.

The process wasn’t easy. The first 30 days were a challenge.

But I think what helped was the mindset I established right from the start. Also, I took it slowly, was gentle with myself and didn't try to do a 360 shift overnight.

That would’ve been crazy challenging if I went too fast.

With the support of your loved ones, if you have family and friends who are on board with the clean eating challenge, too, then that makes it easier.

But if you’re flying solo in this challenge, no worries.

Just do it slow, deal with the mind games, and keep your goals clear in your head and throughout the entire journey.

You can make it happen!

Clean eating is the way to go.

So how do you even eat “clean”?

Here are examples of clean eating challenges to do for yourself or with friends that you definitely have to try:

Easy and Simple Decluttering Challenges To Do

Like, you enter your home, and about 70 to 90% of your living space is taken up by your … stuff.

Easy and Simple Decluttering

So there’s no point keeping things the way they are if the present situation doesn’t work, right?

Take deep breaths and start by focusing on the basics

Here are some helpful challenges to do that you can try to de-clutter not just your home, or your handbag, or your closet, but ultimately, your life:

Art, Self-Expression, and Creativity Challenges To Do

What’s your favorite way of expressing yourself?

Do you love to write poems?

Do you doodle?

Or maybe you’re into embroidery, quilting, pottery, carpentry…

Everyone’s got that creative spirit, but some people just don’t tap into it just as much as others do.

I never wrote or read poems as a kid.

I wasn’t even into writing. No diary, no journal, nothing.

But when I entered a period of depression when my mom died, I felt so much stuff in my head that I knew I had to release.

Overwhelming emotions, too much for my brain and heart to handle…

Then I came across this lovely poem by Christina Rossetti called “Remember Me”.

I forgot how I ended up reading that poem, and I really have no recollection of who shared it with me.

But damn, it struck me right to the core.

And then the waterworks came… And kept going…

That poem really got to me, and it opened some serious floodgates.

I got a pen, and a piece of paper, then just scribbled away.

It was really therapeutic.

My thoughts just spilled our from my head straight to the paper.

Admittedly, yes, I did have so much anger, some of what I wrote was grim and dark...

But I didn’t care. I just wrote and wrote and wrote. No judgment, but just pure release through writing.

So yeah, maybe for me, it was poetry writing that helped me REALLY express myself. For others, creative expression may come from drawing, handicrafts or dancing.

Whatever it is that gets you passionate, DO IT.

If you’re drawn more towards one thing, in my case, poetry, then just keep at it. Don’t judge your work. You’re not competing for the Nobel Peace Prize or a spot in the New York Times Bestseller or something.

It’s all about freely expressing yourself for therapy, for sanity, or for your own happiness.

Commit, get started, and keep at it. That’s how you do it right and how you gain success from all your efforts!

Creativity is a muscle you have to exercise. It can be just like any other habit to develop. And there's creativity challenges you can do.

The goal is to keep at it, discover your creative spirit, let it out, and have a form of release in a healthy, wholesome, and productive manner.

Get it all out, Unleash the Creative Spirit Inside of You and most importantly, have fun with what you’re doing. ☺

Top 9-Tips to Make Yourself Poop Anytime, Naturally

How to Make Yourself Poop Anytime, Naturally

Don’t you just get stressed when you KNOW you need to poop but you just can’t go?

You have to catch an early morning flight, and you want to get your toilet duties over and done with, so you won’t be bothered anymore once you’re on the plane.

Or, you haven’t gone for a few days, and you’re starting to feel not so good…

No matter what it is, I’m pretty sure you have a perfectly good reason why you’re reading this post right now. And you need to get your pooping schedule back in the groove again.

After all, doesn’t it just feel so liberating once you have gone exactly when and where you wanted to?

The feeling of lightness, of being clean inside… That’s priceless!

So read up and check out these no-fail tips on how to make yourself poop the easy, natural, and quick way.

A Very Serious Matter…

Not being able to poop is something not to be taken lightly.

In fact, if you’ve been having a hard time going, or you haven’t gone at all for a couple of days or so, it’s actually quite alarming.

Just think - you’ve been eating everyday but the wastes aren’t coming out of your body.

It’s like not taking the trash out at home for days or even weeks!

You’re literally a walking pile of junk inside… And it’s not good for you at all.

And where does the junk go? Just circulating in your body, that’s what!

No wonder some people develop all nasty diseases and various medical conditions. It’s because wastes are just getting reabsorbed in their bloodstream, wreaking havoc to their cells, tissues, organs.

This is why if you’ve been having a hard time pooping, you need to take action - quick. Time to take the trash out where it’s supposed to pass naturally instead of turning it into a major, very expensive medical procedure!

What Happens When You Don’t Poop

What Happens When You Don’t Poop

In a normal world, your body eliminates wastes from the food you eat. This is why you pee, sweat, breathe, and yes, poop.

Bowel movements is the way in which your body gets rid of undigested material from food such as nutrients that you may be intolerant to. There are also sloughed off cells of your intestinal wall that need to be eliminated.

Then, there are fat-soluble toxins that are basically useless substances in your body, which can only be eliminated by pooping.

So, if you don’t poop, all of these things just sit in your colon and can’t get out.

Your wastes are piling up and obviously, the result is going to get ugly...

Why Can’t You Poop?

Now you know what happens when you don’t poop, and the next question is, why can’t you poop?

When you can’t poop, or you’re constipated, it’s because there’s not enough bulk in your body.

You don’t have fiber that causes the wastes to get pushed out and pass through your colon.

It’s also possible that you are not pooping because you don’t drink enough, or you don’t exercise enough.

Your diet, your lifestyle, all of these things impact the ease or difficulty of passing stool through the colon.

You’ll find out more about the reasons why pooping is hard for most people as you keep reading. I have enumerated 9 ways for you to have regular poop, and doing the opposite of those things are the culprits why you’re not taking the trash in your body out.

Fiber - The Magic Poop Pill

I have mentioned earlier that fiber is important in helping you poop regularly.

Dietary fiber is the roughage or food components that your body cannot digest. So what it does is it passes through your stomach, your small intestines and your colon, and then out your body.

There are two types of fiber, the soluble fiber that is easily dissolved in water and the insoluble, which does not dissolve in water.

Insoluble fiber is what helps move material through the digestive system and helps ease constipation. These foods include whole wheat flour, beans, nuts, potatoes, and cauliflower, to name a few.

As for soluble fiber, this is responsible for regulating your cholesterol levels and keep your heart healthy. Food items such as oats, whole grains, and seeds are rich in this type of fiber.

Be sure to include both the soluble and insoluble fiber in your body to achieve optimum benefits from it!

Important Reasons Why You Need Fiber

Fiber is necessary for keeping your bowel movements regular. It also increases the size and weight of your stool, as well as softens it.

When you have a bulky stool, this passes easier, and you’ll have a lower risk of being constipated. Watery stools, however, can become harder and more solid with the help of fiber because of the roughage it adds.

Aside from helping you poop regularly, fiber also does other things to your body. It helps regular your blood sugar levels, reduce your cholesterol level, and assist with weight loss.

According to the Institute of Medicine, adults 50 years old and younger need 25 grams (women) to 38 grams (men) of fiber daily. As for those who are 51 years and up, they need 21 grams (women) and 30 grams (men) of daily fiber intake to ensure good health.

By consuming the right amount of fiber in your body, you can stay healthier and live longer!

9 Easy Ways to Make Yourself Poop

You don’t have to hold on to that poop for too long!

There are simple things you can do to make yourself poop, and these 9 tips can get you regular to achieve better health.

1. Increase your fiber intake.

How much fiber do you eat each day?

If you are not eating enough fiber, pooping is much more difficult to do.

Be sure to include fiber-rich foods in your diet daily such as oats, whole grains, nuts, seeds, leafy greens, and fruits.

Start your day with a fruit smoothie, a bowl of muesli or oatmeal, and fruits. Then, get your greens in for lunch, whole grain bread and veggie sticks dipped in peanut butter for snacks, and brown rice with steamed vegetables for dinner.

It’s so easy to incorporate fiber in your diet, and it is just a matter of really making an effort to planning your meals each day.

2. Drink up!

Water helps you have a more regular bowel movement.

But most people are not aware of the right amount of water they should drink each day.

Be sure to drink half your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 100 pounds, you need to drink 50 ounces of water daily.

Are you 150 pounds? Then it’s 75 ounces of water for you.

3. Laxatives help.

If you need an extra boost to poop, laxatives can definitely help.

You can find over the counter laxatives available at the pharmacy including bisacodyl and senna-sennosides. Osmotic laxatives are also quite common such as polyethylene glycol, lactulose, and magnesium hydroxide.

For a much stronger PEG laxative, you will need a doctor’s prescription for that.

4. Soften that stool.

Dehydration is one of the main culprits for constipation, which makes your stool hard and tough to come out.

Fortunately, there are stool softeners sold at local pharmacies that can help people who have a difficult time pooping because of this problem.

Common stool softeners include docusate calcium and docusate sodium. These help facilitate the exiting of your stool more easily.

5. Do an enema.

Enemas help soften the stool to make it easier and more efficient for you to move bowels.

There are different types of enema you can try including soapsids, tap water enemas, and sodium phosphate.

Just be sure to follow the correct procedure on how to administer enema to get favorable results from it.

6. Get moving.

Couching all day definitely won’t help you poop.

You need to get moving to increase the blood flow in your abdomen and help push the stool out of your body.

Simple physical activities such as jogging or walking should suffice in making you poop much easier. There are also yoga poses to help you poop that are worth giving a try and adding in to your daily routine.

7. Grab your cup of Joe.

Did you know that coffee makes you poop?

Coffee is packed with chemicals including chlorogenic acid that helps your body produce gastric acid. This acid reduces your stomach’s pH while speeding up the food’s movement in your digestive tract. As a result, your stomach pushes out wastes much more efficiently.

There are also hormones released with the help of coffee, and these include cholecystokinin and gastrin. These hormones improve digestion and activate your colon to move things around.

Leaning more towards decaf coffee? No problem. Whether you drink caffeinated or decaf coffee, this does not stop gastrin and gastric acid from being released in your body because it’s not a caffeine thing that makes it happen.

8. Take fiber supplements.

If eating fiber-rich food is not enough, you can also consider taking fiber supplements to move things much faster in your stomach.

These supplements include psyllium, methylcellulose, and polycarbophil.

All of these supplements help treat constipation, IBS, and diarrhea. Generally, you will have to take these supplements a couple of hours before you sit on the toilet.

Although these are over the counter fiber supplements, you still need to consult your doctor before taking them to make sure they don’t counteract with the existing supplements or medicines you take, or to ensure their safety to your specific health condition.

9. Massaging can do the trick.

Lastly, a simple thing to do to help yourself poop is by massaging the perineum. It’s that part between your anus and genitals, and putting pressure in this area may assist in the softening and breaking up of stools.

It definitely won’t hurt to try, along with the other recommended tips on how to make yourself poop that I have listed above. It’s natural, safe, and many people swear by how it works for them.

Go Forth and Be Regular!

Not being able to go regularly is not just uncomfortable but it’s also dangerous to your health.

You’re just allowing your body to reabsorb wastes, which can lead to long-term and even immediate health problems.

So apply these tips on how to make yourself poop to keep your body functioning right and avoid diseases that will impact your life.

Stay on a fiber-rich diet, get moving, keep hydrated, and have a regular bowel movement today and everyday!

Know the Causes and Proven Ways on How to Reverse Aging Today!

Know the Causes and Proven Ways on How to Reverse Aging Today!

Do you wish you could look and feel younger for as long as possible?

If you want to know how to reverse aging, you’ll be glad to know that it does not always have to involve going under the knife.

In fact, a trip to the grocery store and perhaps taking a side trip to the pharmacy are all that you need to turn back the clock slowly, surely, and safely.

How?

Well, keep reading because what I’m about to reveal to you may not be as complicated as how you thought it would be. Reversing aging is not an insurmountable feat - and you’ll know why once you have reached the end of this post.

Time to reset your body with these easy and absolutely doable steps!

What Causes Aging?

You blow out the candles on your birthday cake each year.

Does this cause aging? Biological age?

Not quite!

There are people who are over 50 years of age but still look and feel like they are in their 30s. And vice-versa.

So what is the cause of aging?

Unhealthy habits are primarily to blame for those nasty wrinkles, sagging skin, droopy eyelids, bad back, arthritis, and so on and so forth.

Smoking cigarettes, too much alcohol consumption, not getting enough sleep, lack or no exercises at all, poor stress management, unhealthy diet, not drinking enough water - these are just some of the evil culprits behind aging.

If you are still in your 20's and guilty of doing these things, you are well on your way to aging, and it goes downhill from there, trust me.

There is never a better time to start taking care of your health than right now. If you want to age gracefully and still feel at your best as you hit your senior years, fundamental changes have to happen.

Age-Accelerating Habits

What Happens When You Don’t Poop

As I mentioned above, there are habits and routines that most people do that age them faster.

You may not be aware of it but getting inadequate amounts of sleep, grabbing your daily breakfast from a drive-thru, partying and consuming too much alcohol, not managing your stress, poor relationships and lack of exercise are some major factors that are speeding up your body’s aging process.

These habits are destructive to your cells and most especially to your mitochondria, which is the powerhouse of your cells. These tiny “factories” supply energy to your cells by feeding them with nutrients from the food you eat, so if these so-called factories slowly die and reduce in number, then you’ll have less and less of healthy cells.

Unhealthy cells = aging faster.

It only makes sense that by allowing yourself to keep doing these unhealthy habits, you are also marching faster down the aging road. And it may be harder than you think to go back up and reverse aging when there is more damage done to your body.

It is absolutely possible to slow down the effects of aging but the sooner you start taking action, the better.

Is It Possible to Reverse Aging?

Yes!

You CAN reverse aging as long as it is not too late. What this means is that you have not done such extensive damage to your body that just can’t be reversed.

Say you are in an advanced level of a critical illness. Naturally, reversing aging is difficult and almost impossible.

But if you are just starting to experience some symptoms, better yet, you just woke up one day and realized you want to start looking and feeling younger, then you can very much reverse aging and have more chances of succeeding than when you are gravely ill.

Are These Signs of Aging Starting to Bother You?

stress is your worst enemy

Maybe you are in your late 30s and you are starting to realize you no longer have that glow and radiance in you.

Or you are in your 50s and you wish you could go back to how you looked and felt in your younger years.

Let us first talk about the signs of aging that most people deal with and why they happen.

Red Eyes

No, we are not talking about your eyes turning red when you are suffering from allergies, from crying, or from staring at your screen for too long.

When you frequently have red eyes even if you have not done any of the things listed above, then you may be suffering from inflammation. Chronic inflammation is linked with various degenerative diseases and ailments associated with age including osteoarthritis.

Droopy Eyelids

droopy eyes

Your eyes say something about your physical condition and yes, your age.

When your eyelids are starting to droop or they are constantly in this state of drooping, it is a sign of many things such as fluid retention, thyroid dysfunction, and fatigue.

It is also typical that droopy eyelids means you are suffering from oxidative stress, a condition where free radicals are building up and causing damage to your body on the cellular level.

Sagging Skin

This is pretty much self-explanatory.

When your skin is starting to sag, it only mean one thing - you are aging.

Not that there  is anything abnormal about it. As you age, gravity begins to show its massive power as it pulls your skin down. You start to notice the skin stretching further down.

Mainly, it is because there is a reduced production of collagen in your body, which is responsible for keeping your skin taut and firm.

No amount of makeup can ever hold your skin up. Sure, makeup can contour your face a little and provide that optical illusion that your skin is still fresh and taut but once the makeup is off, reality will show itself to you.

The goal is not to rely on just covering up but by attacking the source of the problem and doing something about it.

Wrinkles

Maybe your skin is deprived of beauty, anti-aging foods.

This is why you have those deep furrows and noticeable nasio-labial lines that reveal your biological age to people at first sight.

But did you know that wrinkles can mean more than having those lines on your face?

For instance, deep nasio-labial furrows depict a possible congested digestive tract issue in your body, as well as insufficient oxygen in your body or a liver that’s been in overworked.

This is why it is imperative that you start cleansing your body and every major organ to boost vitality, energy, and in the end, minimize these wrinkles on your face.

Pains Here and There…

pains here and there

This is very much self-explanatory.

If you are experiencing pain, discomfort, and just plain tiredness even right after you wake up, you are definitely not carrying in you a body of a younger man or woman.

Aging is not just in the face but in how you feel each time you move and carry out your tasks.

Skin Tone Changes

Your skin reveals so much about your age. And yes, your health condition.

Naturally, glowing, radiant, and clear skin means you are in tiptop shape.

On the contrary, flaky and very dry skin could mean your thyroid is not doing great. When your thyroid is weak, it means your adrenals are falling short of producing hormones that keep you revitalized and energized.

Your adrenals and thyroid are reliant on your small and large intestines that eliminate wastes from your body. So when these parts of your body are compromised, your body becomes clogged up with waste and sludge that prevents your skin from glowing, clearing up and feeling supple.

Constantly Fatigued

It is normal to feel tired after coming home from work.

You also feel tired when you have a lot of tasks to do at once but have little or no time to rest.

But if you are often tired for no reason, and you look tired even when you have just woken up, it means not everything is at it should be.

Stress and not being able to handle it well or being overloaded with it accelerates aging.

It could be a combination of not sleeping well, eating junk all the time, and not getting the social and emotional benefits of exercise.

Inflammation and Aging - What’s the Link?

What does it mean to be inflamed?

It basically means that your body is not performing its normal processes in an efficient and effective way.

Your major organs are overloaded and not capable of eliminating wastes, metabolizing nutrients, or producing hormones that in turn impact your health.

In other words, your body is not at its best because naturally, inflammation is not a normal state.

So when you are suffering from inflammation, aging follows. You will start feeling and looking older because your body’s organs are not doing their job of absorbing, eliminating, and utilizing nutrients from the food you eat.

And it could also mean that your diet will not be as beneficial.

aging

How to Reverse Aging Naturally

Now that we have discussed the different signs of aging, and we have also touched on what inflammation does to your body, let us talk about ways on how to reverse aging.

Like I said, it is absolutely possible to reverse aging, as long as you start sooner than later and you are implementing the right steps to do it.

So here are the things you need to do on how to reverse aging naturally.

1. Get Rid of Nasty Addictions

Smoking and drinking excessive alcohol are not doing you any good for your goal of attaining longevity and health.

In fact, smoking is the culprit behind a laundry list of destructive to fatal ailments including lung, liver, heart disorders.

Each time you light up a cigarette, you are slowly setting your vital organs on fire.

The same is true with alcohol consumption. Alcohol is linked with inflammation and damage to your liver. With your liver is no longer able to perform its job of filtering out wastes, you are simply reabsorbing the sludge that should have otherwise been removed from your body.

That does not sound too promising in the name of longevity, does it?

A glass of wine a week may be fine and may even be beneficial because of the resveratrol content. However, even though resveratrol benefits will completely change your life, it comes from many more foods than fermented grapes. And hard liquor does not do anything good to you at all.

2. Stay Hydrated

Eight glasses?

No. A person who weighs 100 pounds and another person who tips the scale at 200 pounds cannot possibly be drinking the same amount of water.

The goal is to drink half your total body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 100 pounds, you should drink 50 ounces of water each day. If you’re at 200 pounds, then it should be 100 ounces.

And no, I’m not talking about drinking soda, beer, and high-fructose juices. I recommend that you drink pure, clean water and with added natural, sugar-free juices, smoothies, and herbal teas throughout the day.

3. Get Your 8 Hours in

sleep

Prioritize your sleep each night.

Sleep is important as it energizes and allows your body to repair itself, which it cannot do during your waking moment.

When you get your sleep, your body goes through a healing and revitalization process, helping your vital organs function properly, and repair your cells.

If you’re having a hard time sleeping, be sure to eat a light dinner each night, stay away from technology at least 30 minutes before you actually doze off, and take deep breaths or meditate to put yourself in a relaxed, ready-to-sleep state.

4. Watch What You Eat

The food you eat impacts how slowly or quickly you age.

This is why you should cut back on saturated fats, high sodium, and acidic food and beverages.

Instead, load up on the good fats or essential fatty acids, and complex carbohydrates such as whole grains and oats.

You should also increase your intake of fresh, organic produce including fruits and vegetables, particularly dark leafy greens.

Eating in moderation is also imperative to good health and in slowing down the aging process, so don’t eat until you are stuffed. In fact, a great rule of thumb to follow is the 80/20 rule. Stop eating before the point where you feel full. It takes a few minutes for your stomach to tell your brain you’re actually full.

5. Don’t mess with your hormones.

Some people love to tweak their hormones.

This is why they take human growth hormone to build muscle, which eventually messes up their body.

The same goes for progesterone and estrogen replacement, which has been linked to numerous health risks, including cancer.

Before you decide to do something with your hormones through artificial means, it may be best to consult your doctor first and resort to a more natural means of working with your hormones to counter nasty medical problems.

6. Take the Right Supplements

Take the Right Supplements

Supplements are necessary if you are not receiving the required vitamins and minerals from the food you eat.

But supplement incorrectly, and you are doing more harm than good to your body.

This is why you need to take into account the right supplements that can benefit your body. These include CoQ10 and resveratrol to counter aging, ALA, antioxidants, B-vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids that all help with slowing down the aging process.

It is also best to check the company carefully to make sure it really makes pure, natural, and reliable supplements that will greatly benefit your health.

7. Exercise daily.

When you do not exercise regularly, this causes your skeletal muscles to become weaker, which is also called Sarcopenia. Muscle loss increases your risk of balance issues and susceptibility to falls, as well as the inefficiency to perform your daily, mundane tasks.

So how can you fight it and prevent muscle loss and weakness?

Resistance training, weight lifting, and strength training all help.

It also helps to use free weights, exercise machines, and bands by slowly starting with a reasonable weight and then increasing the difficulty level once your body is accustomed to it.

Aging Woes - Do These End with an Alkaline Diet?

A diet that is rich in alkaline food such as antioxidants can greatly improve your joint pain, stiffness, and ultimately fight aging.

So when your goal is to slow down aging, you should consider eating foods that are alkaline-forming and minimize acid-forming ones.

The goal is to consume 80 percent alkaline foods such as ripe fruits, greens, sprouts, and other vegetables, preferably non-starchy ones.

By trading in refined sugars and fast food items for real and whole foods, you will start to feel less inflamed and see an improvement in your appearance at the same time.

Complete Anti-Aging Support That’s Science-Tested!

Good mitochondrial health slows down aging. Science has proven that by feeding your mitochondria, you can help achieve cellular energy and even counter the signs of aging, as well as rejuvenate joint functions.

Time Challenger is a supplement that I have created to provide optimum support to the mitochondria that tend to be compromised by unhealthy habits including lack of sleep, unhealthy diet, and poor stress management.

This supplement contains essential ingredients that help provide your body with maximum nutrients including resveratrol, CoQ10, DHEA, ALA, Acetyl L-Carnitine, B-vitamins, Vitamin D3, E, and enzymes to support and improve mitochondrial health.

Stress Is Your Worst Enemy

stress is your worst enemy

In addition to your mitochondria, your cells also have chromosomes that when are overly exposed to and overloaded with stress, can impact aging.

These are your telomeres, or the outermost portions of the cell chromosomes.

Stress is often the culprit behind chronic fatigue syndrome, and this condition actually makes you feel and look older than you are. As your body releases the hormone cortisol when you are stressed, this can eventually cause massive dangers to your body over time.

So if you are going through too much stress, it is important that you reduce it with soothing activities and hobbies that spark joy into your life.

Get Older But Feel Younger!

Yes, aging is inevitable.

We all get older each year, and this is a fact of life.

But that does not mean you should look and feel older than you are or to let yourself spiral down into sickness and feelings of being unwell all the time.

The good news about all of these things is that you are absolutely in control of the aging process.

You can slow it down and actually make each day of your life your best.

By taking care of yourself with good habits, you can get older but feel so many of the effects of it. In fact, taking care of yourself can make you feel energized, alive, healthy and optimistic.

Pet Vitamins and Supplements – 11 Essentials For Your Furry Friend

Pet Vitamins and Supplements - 11 Essentials For Your Furry Friend

You love your pets, they’re an extension of your family. And you are your pet’s world. Isn’t it only right that you do everything you can to keep them healthy?

You give them exercise, lots of cuddles and toys to keep them busy. When it comes to pet nutrition, nothing says I love you more than a proper diet to promote excellent health.

You may be wondering, what about pet vitamins and supplements? Is this something my pet needs?

The answer really depends.

But it’s a topic worth exploring. In this post you’re going to learn about pet supplements and vitamins, when and if you should give them to your pet and what to look for.

Let’s dive in and chow down on some critical information for the well being of your pet!

What Pet Supplements Are Really For

Pet owners supplement their pets diets for different reasons.

It could be with an omega 3 fatty acid to improve your fur baby’s coat, help with skin conditions, decrease shedding, improve heart health, reduce allergies, or improve their cognitive functions.

Or, maybe it’s a supplement for bone and joint. Or, maybe it’s a multivitamin to deliver multiple vitamins and minerals for your pets overall health.

Pet supplements and vitamins are intended to fill in the nutritional gaps your pet may be missing in their diet.  But how do you know if your pet is nutrient deficient?

Does Your Pet Need Supplements? Clues to Know

What Happens When You Don’t Poop

Your pet doesn’t talk, well, not in human language at least. They can’t tell you when their diet is making them tired, or if they aren’t feeling well.

So how do you know if your pet needs a vitamin or supplement?

This answer can depend on your pet’s age and breed but there are other indications to look for when it comes to supplementing their diet.

Do they seem lethargic, shed a lot, suffer from dry nose, seem stiff or not as sharp as they used to be? This can be a sign they may need a supplement.

What About Supplements in Pet Food?

Most pet foods contain the vitamins and minerals needed for your pets health, but high heat can kill beneficial probiotics which can happen during processing.

Aging, mitochondrial health, and illness is linked to nutritional deficiencies.

Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are difficult to preserve in packaged food, so it may not be enough for your pet.

Do You Need to Check with Your Vet Before Giving Your Pet Vitamins?

Always check with your veterinarian before giving your pet supplements.

Not all supplements are created equal.

Just because your neighbor’s pet is taking a certain supplement doesn’t mean you should also give your pet the exact same supplement.

Some supplements contain herbals and other ingredients that may only be effective when used in combination with other vitamins and minerals.

Do Supplements Work?

This largely depends on what your pet needs, the supplement you give them and the quality of the vitamins and supplements.

For instance, fatty acids given to pets can help improve their coats. This is the case with fish oil supplements that are intended to reduce inflammation.

Glucosamine /chondroitin for pets also help with osteoarthritis and minimize pain while improving mobility.

As for antioxidants including vitamins E and C, these help with inflammation and memory issues in senior dogs.

Are there Dangers to Supplementing Pets?

First, you should NEVER give your pet a supplement designed for humans. And just like people, giving your pet too much of a good thing can be harmful.

For example, an excess of calcium can result in skeletal issues in large breed dogs. Vitamin A overdose can result in joint pain, dehydration, and problems with blood vessels. Too much vitamin D in dogs can harm their bones and result in muscle atrophy.

Are Pet Vitamins FDA-Approved?

The FDA is responsible for overseeing pet vitamins and supplements.

They also require tests for products to make sure the ingredients in these supplements are indeed reputable and meet the dietary and health concerns of pets.

How to Choose the Best Pet Vitamins

There are certain things to look for when choosing the best pet vitamins and supplements.

They are:

1. Check the Labels

What are the nutrients included in the supplement?

Also, what is the percentage of each nutrient per serving?

These are important pieces of information you need to know before buying a pet vitamin and supplement.

2. Consider the Brand’s Reputation

Just like when choosing a supplement for you, it is also essential to consider the reputation of the brand or the manufacturer.

Is the seller Reputable?

Does the brand have a good reputation among its customers?

How long has it been in the pet vitamin industry?

Are there recalls or questionable issues linked with this seller that you need to be aware of?

Do your homework before picking out a supplement for your pet. Not all companies are created equal.

Check for Studies Done to the Products

It is best to look for a product that has undergone clinical studies and tests.

These tests should be published for the public, so you can further analyze and determine if you should trust and buy the vitamin and give it to your pet.

Go for a Certified Organization Verifying the Contents of the Supplement

There are many companies that sell pet vitamins and supplements that are regarded for their reputation and certification.

For instance, there are Zesty Paws and NaturVet that have been around for years.

NutriVet and VertiScience are other pet vitamin and supplement companies that many pet owners trust for quality products.

3. Avoid Supplements with Questionable Ingredients

Never give your pet vitamins and supplements that contain harmful and questionable ingredients.

Ingredients you should stay away from.

In addition, there are certain ingredients that are harmful to dogs.

Watch out for products with bitartrate, acetate, nitrate, hydrochloride, gluconate, chloride, and succinate.

How to Change the World and Leave Your Mark in 3 Important Ways

change the world

How to Change the World and Leave Your Mark in 3 Important Ways

Do you sometimes wonder if you could change the world and make it better?

Maybe you’re tired of all the racism going on, the hatred, the bigotry, the violence…

So it only makes perfect sense that you want to make a change in the world and hopefully turn things around and create peace, love, and understanding among people.

Sounds like one heck of a goal, isn’t it?

Well, if you want to make the world a better place, it’s absolutely possible. In fact, great thinkers, spiritual leaders, and average Joes and Janes like you and me can work together to make it happen.

It’s all about knowing how to do it, getting clear on the steps, and tackle things one after another.

If you want to change the world, keep reading, because I’ve got my two cents based on experience on how making a difference is 100% possible and doable.

Let’s begin!

Can You Actually Change the World?

YES, you definitely can change the world!

It’s not an impossible feat to accomplish and even if you’re not a political leader, you can contribute to the beautiful change that the world deserves.

If you can change and become a better version of yourself, inspire others to follow suit, and be consistent with the positive habits you’re doing, changing the world is very much doable.

It all begins with knowing where and how to begin...

The First Thing To Do to Change the World

you can change the world

All people, man or woman, child or adult, can make this change happen.

In fact, there is no such thing as more powerful or weaker when it comes to wanting to change the world.

The Dalai lama once said, “If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito”. Such a small creature can definitely make a massive difference in your skin!

So the crucial piece is in understanding and accepting the fact that you are NEVER powerless about changing the world.

You have everything within you to ignite a change and spread it to everyone around you… To the world at large.

By realizing that you’re more than capable of making a change, the next step is to start doing the work.

Real change begins in YOU.

It All Begins Within You

Surprise, surprise - if you want to change the world, you have to start inside of you.

Change is not something that the government can do for you.

It’s never going to happen through big businesses and massive corporations.

But change is only possible when you make an effort to actually change within yourself - your way of thinking, your habits, the way you deal with others.

And when you change your thoughts, become more optimistic, become more altruistic, become more selfless, you inevitably will change the world!

Why Some People Fail in Changing the World

Now, it is not always easy for some people to change the world.

They maybe have this strong desire to make a difference but end up bouncing back to their old ways, resulting to a failure in their attempts to change the world.

Why does this happen?

A few reasons.

1. Inconsistency.

When you really want to change the world, you need to be consistent with what you do.

You set your goals, create a plan, then you form habits that are in alignment with your goals.

If you want to see peace in this world, you have to be peaceful within yourself and how you relate with others.

You can’t yearn for peace when you are not in harmony with your own body, mind, and spirit. Or when you often get into conflict with the people around you.

So to achieve your goal of seeing less violence and more kindness in the world, practice those things in your daily life and in your daily interactions with others.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
Here today, gone tomorrow.

The goals you set, the habits you create need to be done regularly without fail.

You have to practice consistency with what you do instead of bouncing back to your old ways after a day or two or a week.

Sure, we all fail to be consistent sometimes but the effort must always be present if you really want to make a difference.

Catch yourself each time you are slowly leaning towards resisting that new, positive habit you are forming.

Awareness and mindfulness go a long way when you want to change yourself for the better and ultimately change the world.

set your goals

2. No Clarity of Purpose.

More often than not, people fail in their goal of changing the world when they are not very certain about their purpose.

Maybe they did not give it much thought as to why they even why to change the world or what kind of change they want to see.

So you have to be clear right from the start.

Undefined reasons why you want to change the world.

What kind of change do you wish to have in the world?

Why do you want to see that change?

Answer these questions from the heart and be sure you are certain about your goal. Once there’s clarity, the rest becomes more manageable and doable.

Jesus said, “One blind person can’t lead another blind person”, so if you want to lead the change, be that shining light with a clear purpose.

This is how you can influence and inspire others to make a change, as well.

3. Lack of Commitment.

Changing the world is a monumental task.

It is something that requires your 100% effort, time, and commitment.

This is why when you tell yourself that you want to make a difference, you have to be really committed to making it happen.
When failure hits, you give up too easily.

And when you’re committed, you have to keep doing it even when you hit speed bumps or stumbling blocks along the way.

Don’t give up and keep going toward your goal.

Nothing comes easy but nothing is impossible either.

So stay focused, stay committed, and your efforts will come into fruition.

Three Things You Should Do to Change The World

So now you know the reasons why people fail to change the world, let’s take a look at the core things you need to do to succeed in making a difference.

Here they are.

showing that you care

1. Be empathetic.

Empathy goes a LONG way in succeeding in your goal of changing the world.

You have to put yourself in other people’s shoes and feel their suffering.

Say, you want to decrease violence in your community, you wish people are more compassionate…

Then you have to empathize with those who are going through difficulties because they are victims of violence and injustice and lack of kindness from others.

If you know how it’s like to experience all of these, surely you would not want to be the bringer of all of these things to the world.

With empathy comes a positive change in the way you deal with yourself and with others.

2. Prioritize doing good to others.

What is your priority in life?

If you want to be a bringer of change, you need to prioritize goodness.

Positive things come from the kindness you do. Law of attraction, remember?

Others first, you only come second.

When your goal is to make a change, you should put the others’ needs ahead of your own.

The idea is to not always ask yourself how you can profit or benefit from what you’re doing. That is selfish and will not result to anything good.

Altruism is what can help you make a change.

Self-less, unconditional love and kindness, and serving others without ulterior motive can make a change, a positive change possible.

3. Leave it better than you found it.

This is one of the many things that I’ve learned from my grandfather as a kid.

To leave things better than I found them.

Always remember that you are here to make things better not to make things harder for people.

So always find a way to improve things, to make a situation better instead of worse.

This is why you have intellect and skills - for you to turn something beneficial using these things.

In everything you do, let it be for the greater good of humankind.

What Happens When You Succeed in Changing the World?

What Will Happened Next
Once you apply all of these things in your life and in how you relate with others, it is inevitable to witness a positive change in the world.

Kindness, selflessness, commitment… These will amount to a beautiful difference that you will see in the world.

So make an effort each day to stay focused on your goal of making things better because this is how you can create a change that you would like to witness.

You are here for a greater purpose.

Always keep in mind that you have a much bigger purpose in this world.

You are here to contribute your abilities for the betterment of everyone living on the planet - humans, animals, plants.

The intellect you posses and the skills you have, these are all tools that will make the world a much beautiful place to live in.

Internalize this fact and do your best to make each day much better than yesterday.

With that understanding, you will be able to live your days much fuller and more meaningful, and yes, much happier!

Change Yourself First, Then the World!

change your self
Change is only possible when you set a goal and lay all the steps and actually take action.

So if your goal is to change the world, begin with yourself.

Your thoughts, words, intentions, and actions are very powerful tools that can create a lasting, beautiful change in the world.

Work towards improving yourself each day, and as you become consistent and committed to becoming that positive change you want to see in yourself, you will be able to influence others to make a difference in the world for the greater good of every creature on this planet.

Mitochondrial Health: 9 Ways to Help Mitochondria’s Anti-Aging Job

Mitochondria's Anti-Aging Job

Mitochondrial Health: 9 Ways to Help Mitochondria's Anti-Aging Job

What’s the best way to turn back the clock on your health? If you think that the only way to achieve anti-aging is through creams, lotions and surgery then you’re probably one of the millions of people chasing the white rabbit of health that can never quite be caught.

Good mitochondrial health is the secret to living a vibrant thriving and long life. This is a well kept secret that we’re going to expose today.

Rapid aging, disease and an overall feeling of poor health is caused by damage to your mitochondria. These little organelles are vital to your body’s cellular health. Yet, when a problem arises, it’s treated as if it’s a completely separate issue. But it all can be linked back to these damaged and dying systems.

We’re going to explore what exactly mitochondria is, how they work within your body and 9 ways that you can improve your mitochondrial health.

What is Mitochondria?

You may have heard that mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cells, but what exactly does that mean?

Every cell in your body contains hundreds of mitochondria. These are “power converts”. Your stomach, heart, lungs, kidneys, and every other organ in your body needs nutrients from food to thrive.

Within the cell, mitochondria take these nutrients and convert them into energy that allows every single cell in your body to function properly. Mitochondria is responsible for synthesizing 90% of a cell’s chemical energy in the form of ATP. (1)

Need your heart to beat regularly? You have mitochondrial for that. Want to be able to get up out of a chair without it completely draining you? There’s mitochondria for that.

See, these little powerhouses are so absolutely critical for the health of your body. And guess what else these little guys are responsible for?

Proper cognitive function. (2)  We each have an even greater number of mitochondria within our brain cells.

When mitochondria are stressed or damaged, our mood, memory and concentration are affected. And because everything within the body is instructed what to do i.e the control center being the brain, a sick brain equals a sick body.

Mitochondria Die Over Time...

Unfortunately, mitochondria are not immortal organelles in your body. They DO weaken and die. Without functioning mitochondria, what is going to nourish your cells?....

Well, the remaining mitochondria can still stay on the job and do their job but it’s like increasing work hours while decreasing employees. Eventually, EVERYTHING will crash and burn. In the human body, this takes time and we see this in the form of aging along with other physical symptoms.

Both environmental factors and lifestyle factors are responsible for mitochondrial damage and death. Are there signs that this is happening within your body?

Signs you Are Experiencing Mitochondrial Damage

What Mitochondrial Damage is Like

You may experience chronic fatigue, rapid aging, poor memory, poor concentration, chronic illnesses, problems with sleep, mood disorders, issues with gut health, the list is pretty extensive.

The development of tumors is also caused by mitochondrial damage because mitochondria are also responsible for cell death. This is a normal process where your cells die and you get new ones to replace the old ones.

If the mitochondria aren’t working properly, they don’t “sweep out the house” so to speak and those old and damaged cells continue to grow, often resulting in tumors. (3)

This is why feeding the mitochondria and supporting mitochondrial health is so important.

There’s one more important factor that you should know about mitochondria before we explore ways to care for them.

Youth and Mitochondria - What’s the Link?

Before you turn 28, you have the MOST amount of mitochondria in your body.

That’s why you notice your skin has less or virtually no wrinkles, you have boundless amounts of energy, and inflammation is the least of your worries.

But as the pages on the calendar turns, you begin to face the harsh reality of aging.

We all experience the decline in mitochondria production, but that’s okay. With the right knowledge you can capitalize the most on the ones you have and yes, healthy cells will lengthen your life. But better than that, you’ll feel younger longer.

Accelerators of Aging

If you have been depriving yourself of sleep, consume a lot of junk, ignore the need for fresh fruits and vegetables, are inactive and consume too much alcohol or other substances it’s going to be reflected inside and out.

The result? Wrinkles, fatigue, and inflammation.

You’ll start to feel sick frequently, your muscles and joints become inflamed, your annual physical tests don’t come out clean, reflecting that you aren’t as youthful as you once were.

Does Aging Come with… Age?

Here’s the thing…

Age is just a number. You age not because of the number of candles you blow but because of how you mistreat your mitochondria.

We can easily get caught up in this mindset of “Oh, I’m just old, that’s just the way it is”....

Nonsense! That’s just programming… I won’t get into that here but you are not destined to have mountains of medical bills and defeat to aging.

Even if you’re 45, if you’re taking care of your mitochondrial health, you’re going to reap the anti-aging benefits and you won’t have to deal with those “aging symptoms” that your contemporaries go through.

You’ll be the youngest looking 45 year old people know because your mitochondrial health is on check!

Healthy Mitochondria = Younger Body

Age does not mean you should expect to develop “age-related” degenerative diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s.

Just because you have more years under you belt doesn’t mean you HAVE to look and feel like you’ve lost your youth. You CAN stay youthful as ever with an excellent mitochondrial health.

And the best news of all?!

If you are sick or you are starting to see signs of sickness in your body, you can reverse it!

Below are simple and effective ways to reverse aging, and restore your body to a more youthful version of you.

Powerful Ways to Achieve Mitochondrial Health and Reverse Aging

After reading this list you may find that you might need to make some serious lifestyle changes. It’s not easy to break a habit and create new ones but you can do it and your health and your life depends on it.

This list is synergistic, meaning that you can’t simply pick one thing off the list, you want to do as many of these things on the list as possible as they work together in harmony to create and environment of health in your body.

mitochondria anti-aging

1. Stay Hydrated

Water is not just a necessity when you’re thirsty.

Your body is made up of 60% water, so it is important to stay hydrated as your cells, tissues, organs, and your life depends on it.

We can live without food, (in fact IF has been proven to lead to longevity), but we can not live without water.

There is one MAJOR ISSUE  when it comes to water and the amount of water to drink in a day. You’ve heard “8 glasses a day”, this is a completely false recommendation.

How much water should you drink?

The goal is to drink half your body’s total weight in ounces.

If you weigh 100 pounds, divide that by two, it’s 50. You need to drink 50 ounces of water daily because that’s the right amount your body needs.

Although rare, if you drink too much water, this will cause water intoxication, ultimately flushing out your body’s electrolytes, responsible for transporting electrical signals in your body.

Or what’s more common is dehydration which will cause feelings of sluggishness and creating a toxic soup within your body and  blood.

Without the proper hydration you can’t support your body’s need to eliminate waste and move things around. A precursor to disease or worse.

2. Eat a Balanced Diet

What’s on your plate each day? As the saying goes, you are what you eat. If you want to have a healthy, thriving body and mind for longer, it starts with the foods you eat.

There is such a thing as The Longevity Diet and it works! Check out the link to learn more and take back your health!

A diet that supports mitochondria and is anti-aging includes whole, fresh, organic foods.

The more colors on your plate, the better.

No matter what, your mitochondria are going to convert the foods you eat into chemical energy. A poor diet leads to (4) and an overload of free radicals. (The exhaust of the mitochondria).

Listen to your body when it comes to eating enough and make sure your diet is plentiful of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, fiber, nutrients, vitamins and minerals that your body needs to thrive.

Where your food comes from is also extremely important. If you can make the switch to organic (5), this will reduce the amount of free radicals in the body that cause the body to become toxic.

What else causes toxicity in the body?

Skip the Preservatives and Processed Foods!!

Preservatives! I once heard from a gentleman that by eating preservatives his body would last longer. That’s like saying when you’re sick you should drink alcohol to “disinfect” yourself.

Of course this is an absurdity but what’s the big deal about preservatives anyway?

These are chemicals added to foods to keep their shelf life longer. They do not have any nutritional value and cause serious harm to your health. This includes A.D.H.D in children and adults, increased risk of cancer, allergies to foods, increased risk of heart disease, weight gain and so much more.

Meanwhile, these same foods often contain high amounts of processed sugars and flours that burn out your pancreas and lead to numerous health complications including type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease. (6)

Processed foods are stripped of their nutritional value and sold to you as a convenience….

Please, for mitochondrial sake, skip the preservatives and processed foods.

3. Take Mitochondrial Supplements

We all know that our planet is having some environmental issues and the food industry is being exposed for their dirty little cost saving techniques that you pay for with your health.

But what’s up with this supplement craze?

First off, there is no need to run off and buy up all the supplements you can find. You want to become educated about supplements, why you need them and how to find the right supplement for you.

But there is merit behind the need for supplements. Our soils are being stripped of their nutrients and minerals and being doused with three main ingredients. Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium.

These are great to grow plants and produce flowers on fruit and vegetable crops but this limitation is causing inadequate human nutrition. (7)

Pair that with the stripping of processed foods and you have a huge population of rapidly aging, sick individuals.

Your Mitochondria Need Supplements, Too!

This is where mitochondrial supplements come in, which provide the nutrients and antioxidants your mitochondria need that are not obtained from your regular diet.

The two most important antioxidants that support mitochondrial health are Co-enzyme Q10 and alpha lipoic acids. These are food for your mitochondria that ensure bio-genesis of the renewal and growth of mitochondrial cells. (8)

Currently, this is one of those hush hush remedies, so I understand there isn’t a lot of options out there available even though the research on mitochondrial health is extensive.

I’ll leave some information at the end so you can have some resources to learn more about Mitochondria Supplements.

4. Get at Least 7 Hours of Sleep Each Night

sleep each night

Sleep has the potential to restore your health. Do you ever wonder what happens when you sleep and why we need it in the first place?

Sleep is nature’s way of giving our bodies time to heal. When you sleep your body is able to focus on the task of restoration and also flushes toxins out of your system.

Without enough sleep you are compromise your immune system leaving your more susceptible to getting sick.

Day time naps are beneficial to your body as well, improving memory and concentration, mood and more. Just a 20-30 min nap a day can help you effectively re-energize yourself without the caffeine!

Not Getting Enough Sleep Ages You

Not getting enough sleep causes all sorts of health problems. Not only does it age you MUCH FASTER but it causes issues with the immune system, heart, digestion and overall healing.

People who are sleep deprived are more likely to experience extreme stress, chronic fatigue, cardiovascular problems, mental fog, impaired memory and make untimely mistakes that can lead to death.

Make sure to cherish bed time, your health depends on it.

5. Stay Physically Active

mitochondria and exercise

It’s common knowledge that exercise is good for you. But do you know why?

  • Increases muscle mass and makes for stronger, thicker bones

  • Boosts immune system

  • Improves cognitive abilities

  • Makes you happier

  • Increases energy levels

  • Reduces the risk of chronic diseases

  • Helps with sleep

These are just a few things exercise is good for but did you know physical activity also prevents cellular aging? .

A study published in Cell Metabolism done by Dr. Sreekumaran Nair showed that exercise encourage cells to make more RNA copies of genes that code for mitochondrial proteins. (9)

These are genes that are responsible for muscle growth. In addition, it also increased the ability of ribosomes to build mitochondrial proteins, something your mitochondria “eat”.

It Does Not Have to Be a Gym Membership.

When you think of exercise, you might automatically think of the gym or lifting weights.

On the contrary, walking for 30 mins a day, (brisk walking is even better), is sufficient to get the health benefits of exercise while keeping it low impact.

The goal is to elevate your heart rate for at least 20-30 mins a day. (10)

If you’d like to hit the gym or join a yoga class, go for it!! Just don’t feel like you HAVE to get into bodybuilding to reap the health benefits of exercise.

The more active the better. Stretch, dance, garden, walk, stand instead of sitting at your desk, just get up and get moving!

6. Manage Stress

Stress is a major aging trigger.

When you’re stressed out, you just feel your body is contracting, your heartbeat is going faster, and sleep is… Well, forget about sleeping because your worries have the ability to keep you awake at night.

In other words, stress is what causes you to lose sleep, eat junk, lose the motivation to exercise, and these all make you feel old, tired, and sick.

You have to realize and accept the fact that stress is an inevitable part of life. There will always be stressors whether you’re 15 or 50, married with kids or living alone, an empty nester or with toddlers in the house.

But you CAN take a stand and get ahead of these stressors.

Check out this video on 3 Tips to Take Off the Pressure in Life!

Mind Over Stress.

Potential for stress is all around us. But what can make or break your youth and your health is how you perceive those stressors and how you handle overall stress.

When everything is overwhelming, it can be tempting to turn to destructive habits. Drinking, drugs, screen time, late night snacking. The first thing that has to become a priority in your life is learning how to manage your stress.

Ask yourself the question: Are Your Thoughts Helping or Hurting You? Because the truth is that  Your Thoughts Affect Your Health Positively and Negatively.

Mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and even watching a funny movie can help you de-stress and decompress.

Make it a habit to allot a couple of hours each day to de-stress and your mitochondria will thank you for it.

7. Stay Away From Alcohol, and Drugs.

The known effects of excessive use of alcohol are:

  • Cardiomyopathy

  • Stroke

  • High Blood Pressure

  • Arrhythmias

  • Fibrosis of the Liver

  • Cirrhosis of the Liver

  • Fatty Liver

  • Inflammation and swelling of the pancreas

  • Cancer

  • Weakened immune system (11)

The overuse of alcohol will age you quickly and kill of your healthy cells.

On top of alcohol, there’s the drug epidemic. I’m sure you’ve read a lot about street drugs and it’s nothing to sneeze at. I want to also mention prescription drugs.

Prescription drugs is the 3rd leading cause of death for Americans….

That’s insane. And I know this is a delicate topic, so I don’t say any of this lightly.

But that pain medicine your doctor gave you to cover up a root health problem, or that pill given to your college student or child for A.D.D... These are killing Americans more quickly than car accidents. (12)

I encourage you to approach your health from a holistic point of view and uncover the truth about health and wellness.

8. Increase your intake of resveratrol-rich food.

Resveratrol supports your health while slowing down the aging process.

It is also an important material that helps fight diseases, strengthen your immune system, and reverse various ailments.

With all of these amazing benefits of resveratrol, it makes perfect sense to consume food rich in this material to support mitochondrial health.

According to a study published in the Biomedicines Journal in the US National Library of Medicine “Resveratrol possesses a wide range of biological properties, among them antioxidant, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities” (13)

That’s pretty incredible! So where does it come from and how can you get it into your diet?

Foods Containing Small Amounts of Resveratrol

Foods that contain resveratrol include:

  • Grapes

  • Blueberries

  • Dark chocolate

  • Pistachios

  • Cacao

  • Red wine

  • Peanuts

Consuming foods that contain resveratrol is an excellent way to boost health and support your mitochondria, however foods do contain only a small amount.

One thing you can do to increase your intake of resveratrol is take it as a supplement.

Time Challenger Resveratrol is a favorite among the Time Challenger Products and comes with 120 capsules.

End Gum Problems: Inflamed, Swollen and Sore Gum Home Remedies

Bothered with that painful swelling of your gums?

Swollen gums are never fun. It gets really painful each time you brush your teeth, your gums bleed easily, and chewing food can be a nightmare, especially if your food hits the affected area.

Good thing there are things you can do to prevent swollen gums and also to treat this problem.

How?

Keep reading to learn more about the different ways - natural ways - to get rid of gum problems safely and effectively.

What Causes Swollen Gums or Inflamed Gums

Oral health does not only include your teeth but also your gums, too.

In fact, when your gums are healthy, your teeth are healthy.

But when you are suffering from swollen, inflamed gums, the affected teeth may start to hurt. In some cases, infected, inflamed gums can even cause you to lose your tooth!

When you have swollen gums, they tend to bulge out or protrude. They may even hide some parts of the teeth.

What Causes Swollen Gums or Inflamed Gums

Causes of Swollen Gums

With gingival swelling, your gums become painful or irritated. Then it becomes very difficult to brush your teeth or floss without spitting out a bunch of blood because of your bruised, bleeding gums.

But what really causes swollen gums? Here are some of the reasons behind inflamed gums.

Gingivitis

This is the main culprit behind the swelling of your gums.

This gum disease causes the irritation and swelling, and when left unaddressed, tooth loss and periodontitis may occur eventually.

The tough part is that most people are not even aware they’re suffering from gingivitis because of mild symptoms.

Poor oral health and hygiene causes gingivitis. When you fail to take care of your teeth and gums, plaque starts to build up on your gum line and also on your teeth. This film contains food particles and bacteria that deposit on your teeth.

Wait longer before you get the plaque out, and it will soon become tartar. Now that’s something you can never remove by brushing or flossing. It is something that requires a professional to do it, and if yu wait a little longer, you are at risk of gingivitis.

Malnutrition

Gum swelling can also occur because of a vitamin deficiency.

For instance, being deficient in vitamin C can increase your chances of developing scurvy, which can eventually lead to a gum disease.

This is why you should make sure you are getting enough vitamin C daily. Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits, and you can also take vitamin C supplements to receive the required amount of this vitamin if you are not receiving it from your diet.

getting enough vitamin C daily

Infection

Infections that are viral or fungal in form can lead to swollen gums.

A medical condition called thrush, for example, is due to an overgrowth of yeast that is naturally occuring in your mouth. This disease can also cause your gum to swell.

Dental decay that is left untreated can also cause an infection, which can then result to a dental abcess or a localized swelling of your gums.

Issues with Your Gut

How healthy is your gut?

Did you know that having a weak gut puts you at higher risk of infection and also swollen gums?

Your gut affects your immune system, so if it is weak, this reduces your body’s ability to fight off infection that can cause swelling of the gums. This is particularly true if the infection is in your gum or oral cavity.

Can You Treat Painful Swollen Gums Overnight?

Now that you know the different causes of swollen gums, you must be wondering -

Is it possible to treat painful swollen gums overnight?

It depends on the cause and other underlying factors that result to a swelling.

You can relieve the pain but treating it completely and putting your gums back to a normal condition is not possible.

The treatment process can take some time, and it also depends on how well your body reacts to the treatment.

But what I can recommend is to perform some home treatment for swollen gums that can help improve the state of your gums and eventually heal the swelling.

What Can You Do for Inflamed Gums without Medication

What Can You Do for Inflamed Gums without Medication

Speaking of home remedies for swollen gums…

You can perform basic steps to address an inflamed gum.

For the most part, practice good oral care daily, after meals. Brush and floss regularly, and you can also gargle with salt and water.

I particularly recommend that you gargle with a colloidal silver mixture, which I will discuss in detail below.

It is also important that you avoid irritants to your gums such as tobacco, alcohol, and strong mouthwashes.

Another thing that can help with the pain and swelling is warm compress on your face, placed over the affected area. This works for gum pain while cold compress helps minimize the swelling.

If you have tartar, it is important that you schedule a dental appointed to get your teeth cleaned. This way, you can prevent future episodes of swollen gums.

How Do You Get Rid of Inflamed Gums Naturally?

Let’s talk about the different things you can do to treat swollen gums while at the same time decreasing your risks of gingival inflammation in the future. Here are four things you can do.

Take resveratrol

I recommend that you start taking at least 600 milligrams to 1200 milligrams of resveratrol each day.

This material is very potent in fighting off infection by boosting your immune system. And as your immune system becomes stronger, this also helps reduce inflammation and speed up the healing process of a swollen gum.

Stay hydrated

Hydration is not just an important thing to do when you’re thirsty or you do physical activities.

Drinking water is also beneficial for keeping your gums healthy. It washes away toxins in your body and refreshes you.

I advise that you drink water that is half of your weight in ounces.

So if you weight 100 pounds, you should drink 50 ounces of water daily.

Do oil pulling

Have you ever tried oil pulling?

If you haven’t tried oil pulling yet, I highly recommend that you do.

I would use organic coconut oil, warm it up properly and use that twice a day, morning and evening and along with the colloidal silver.

Simply gargle this mixture in your mouth and spit it out to remove impurities and strengthen your gums and teeth at the same time.

Gargle with colloidal silver

Colloidal silver is your best ally against swollen gums.

For swollen gums,I would use a mixture of 50% colloidal silver, say about 20 parts per million and something that will be similar to the hydrogen peroxide that’s actually a really great mouthwash.

I've had really great success in people using that three times a day and holding it in their mouth as long as they possibly can and then spitting it out.

Do this daily for best and quick results.

Proactive Things You Can Do to Prevent Swollen Gums

If you don’t have swollen gums, great for you!

But you should make an effort to be proactive and perform certain steps to prevent inflammed gums from causing you problems in the future.

Here are things you can do to protect yourself against nasty swollen gums.

Brush your teeth regularly.

Brush your teeth regularly.

This is not even debatable.

Poor oral hygiene leads to gum swelling, so you should make an effort to keep your teeth, tongue, and gums clean and healthy.

Brush after meals and use a good toothpaste that can eliminate bacterial and prevent plaque buildup.

Floss

It is not enough that you brush your teeth.

You also need to floss since there are food particles that get stuck in between teeth that end up forming into a plaque when left unaddressed.

Floss daily and gum swelling should be the least of your problems!

Mind your diet

Your diet affects your health.

Garbage in, garbage out, remember?

So eat nutritious food, consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and stay away from sugary, very sour, and salty foods. The more alkaline your food is, the healthier it is for your body.

Boost your immune system

Take your vitamin C, supplement daily with resveratrol, follow a healthy diet.

These are habits that all contribute to a healthy, thriving immune system.

With a strong immune system, you can fight off infections naturally and make you less susceptible to diseases caused by virus and bacteria.

Keep your gut healthy

Since we’re in the topic of boosting your immune system...

To get the immune system boosted, one of the best things you can do is immediately start 100 billion units of probiotics for your improvement of your gut bacteria and at least 30 strains of bacteria that are part of that hundred billion. And get started on that.

I've had a lot of success from people who tell me almost within a week, they start to feel better all over because they start being regular with their bowel movement.

With your body clear of toxins and wastes, this makes your body stronger in fighting inflammations such as swollen gums.

Painful Swollen Gums and Unhealthy Gut

Painful Swollen Gums and Unhealthy Gut - What is the Link?

A weak gut can cause swollen gums.

How?

Just the fact that your body’s elimination system is compromised means you have more toxins lingering in your body.

When you have a higher percentage of bad bacteria in your body and not enough good bacteria to fight them, this puts you at risk of various diseases…

And it includes gum swelling and infection.

So I would recommend that you take good care of your gut by regularly supplementing yourself with probiotics.

You can take probiotic capsules or drink kombucha, kefir, eat yogurt, sauerkraut, and other foods that contain probiotics to strengthen your immune system, prevent infection, and give you overall health and well-being.

Conclusion

Swollen gums is a nightmare.

But the good news is that there are preventive measures you can take and also natural treatment you can do to get rid of swollen gums.

By staying hydrated, keeping your gut healthy, performing good oral hygiene, and following a healthy diet, swollen gums can be prevented and treated without the use of medication.

Try these steps and techniques I have shared with you today, and I wish you great health always. Be well!
